From an OPD of 60 patients a week, a vision testing drum, ophthalmoscope, retinoscope, schioetz tonometer, and no surgeries, to an OPD of 120 patients, surgeries of all kinds every week, and the latest in micro-surgical equipment, the Holly Family Hospital ophthalmology department has come a long way. Operations like sutureless cataract surgery(phaco-emulsification), retinal detachments, vitreous surgery, etc. are performed regularly. The future will see a Diode laser for treatment of diseases of the retina.
