Holy
Family Hospital has a long tradition of excellence in maternity
and child care. The hospital had its origin as a maternity hospital,
and till today is one of the largest Obstetric Centres in the
Western Suburbs, with an average of 1500 deliveries annually.
Holy Family was one of the first to start pre-natal classes
for expectant mothers and fathers. Supervised by a gynaecologist
and a trained physiotherapist, these classes are conducted on
the lines of the Natural Child Birth Programme.

In keeping with the concept that childbirth should be a natural and shared experience, husbands who attend the pre-natal classes are allowed in the labour room and actually assist their wives during the delivery.
The Holy Family Hospital is a "Baby Friendly Hospital", and
total breast feeding is actively encouraged right from the ante-natal
period.
In 1993, the hospital was one of the first to be equipped with
state-of-the-art equipment in Video Endoscopy. Today, gynaecological
Video-Endoscopic procedures are routinely performed, the benefits
being, a shorter stay in the hospital, smaller incisions, less
post-operative pain-hence a quicker recovery, and an overall
saving in cost to the patient.
The Gynaecological Oncology Clinic, offers medical and surgical
therapies for cancer. The Hospital has a Chemotherapy setup
with a senior consultant Medical Oncologist.
