Fathers Waiting Room
Fathers and close relatives can wait for the birth of the child in the waiting room provided outside the Obstetrics Department on third floor
Fathers presence at time of delivery
This can be arranged on request with the permission of the Nursing Director. Prior to this, we advise the future father to attend at least one ante-natal class session and abide by the Hospital rules.
Neonatal Services
All newborn infants are examined within 24 hours of birth by an Honorary Paediatrician of the Hospital.
Rooming In
This means that newborn infants spend most or all of their time in the room with the mother. Such an arrangement which is possible in a private room enables new parents to get to know their babies better and prepare them to provide the best possible care at home.
We strongly advise that both total and modified rooming-in.
Rooming-in can be arranged with mutual consent of the parents.
Birth Certificate
Birth registration is a very important and legal activity. This has implications on your child's future as well.
Before discharge, make sure that you collect your baby's birth certificate. Check carefully that all particulars are correct. Any variation discovered later carried serious consequences.
