- FLOOD RELIEF WORK
The 26th July 2005 will long be remembered in Mumbai as terrible Tuesday. It was the day that nature unleashed its fury on the city.
The Railway track and houses were submerged under water in some places for more than 24 hours. The rainfall that day was a record 94 cms, tough the forecast predicted a rainfall of only 15 - 16 cms, and this caught everyone unprepared.

The deluge wrecked havoc in the lives of the people and rendered people homeless and destitute. At this point Navjeet Stepped in and carried out relief work.
All the staff then readhed out to areas that were most in need od help. Essential commoditied like food grain and other household needs were met for more than 700 families in the affected area.
An urgent need was felt to render medicl aid and assistance. Medical camps were conducted at various slums in collabration with the Holy Family Hospitals Doctors and nurses, assisted by the staff of Navjeet.
These camps bought unbounded relief to the suffering people. Nearly two thousand persons attended 17 Medical camps,
Apart from medical assistance, Navneet distributed other kinds of relief too, A family kit which consisted of a shirt, a blanket, a sari, a bed sheet, a towel, a mat, a tooth brush and washing soaps, was well appreciated. Groceries like tea, sugar, dal, rice, cooking oil were also distributed.
Akansha an NGO, Holy Family Hospital and Karunya trust, Powai collabrated with Navjeet in the relief programmes.
